MEET GABRIELA | LIDA TRAINED BIRTH DOULA

My name is Gabriela Torto, and I want to be your Doula!

I’m a wife, a mom of two beautiful little girls, and a doula. Having children of my own inspired me to become a doula. I know from my own experiences that the support you have during childbirth can significantly affect the outcome of your birth experience. Childbirth is the most amazing thing I have ever experienced. I knew then that I wanted to help new parents- in birth and in the postpartum period. I believe who I had on my birth team help to shape the outcomes of my births. I was given information that allowed me to advocate for myself, especially in my second birth experience.

When they say having a child changes your life, they’re not kidding! As I’ve journeyed to and through motherhood, I’ve learned that it truly takes a village. We were completely on Cloud 9 when our girls each arrived, but something was missing. This idea truly helped to frame my mindset as a doula: Hold the mother. People came and went visiting my new baby but it was rare that anyone offered help. I know their intentions were good and they were just excited for a new baby.

ABOUT

But it showed me that we need to support a new mom as she finds her way in motherhood. Afterall, pregnant women and young mothers are the most vital force on this earth! This is why I am here to offer you birth and postpartum support with your new baby. When you give birth, you are reborn, as a first time mother, as a mother of 2, 3, or more, you have never been that version of yourself. I am here to guide and support you and your family through this transition period as parents of a newborn.
